Fugitive convict arrested after 22 years

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB –14) have. arrested a life – term fugitive convict from Munnapara (Haybetnagur) in the town on. Thursday night. The arrestee is identified as Murshid (42), who was sentenced to life in the kidnapping and rape case, after being on the run for 22 years.
Accused Murshid. son of Abu Jahed of Mohinanda in Kishoreganj sadar. RAB-14 in Kishoreganj’s Company Commander & Deputy Director MM Sabuj Rana confirmed on Friday morning. RAB Commander also said that a case was filed at Kishoreganj Sadar Model Police Station in 2000 on the charges of kidnapping and rape.
After the trial of the case, the tribunal in Kishoreganj sentenced the accused Murshid to rigorous imprisonment for life and fined tk 20,000.
