Promising batter Najmul Hossain Shanto got the highest score in the ‘Yo-Yo test’ arranged by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) at the Indoor of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Thursday. ‘The Yo-Yo test’ is a one kind of fitness test. Shanto scored 19.5. Tanzim Hasan Shakib got 19.3, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz got 19.2. Experienced Mahmudullah Riyad scored 17. The ‘Yo-Yo test’ was held marking the upcoming Asia Cup. The members of the preliminary cricket squad of Bangladesh took part in the ‘Yo-Yo test’. The cricketers, who are now staying outside the country to take part in the different shorter version cricket competitions in abroad could not compete in the ‘Yo-Yo test.’
After the medical test, the cricketers took part in the ‘Yo-Yo test’ yesterday.
The pass mark of the ‘Yo-Yo test’ was 18’6.
One cricketer got 16.5, which was the lowest score of ‘Yo-Yo test’.
It may be mentioned that the BCB is very much serious for the fitness of the cricketers who will take part in the forthcoming Asia Cup, which is scheduled to be start from August 30.
After the ‘Yo-Yo test’, Strength and Conditioning Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team Nicholas Lee was highly satisfied with the performance of the cricketers, who took part in the yesterday’s ‘Yo-Yo test’.
Nicholas Lee said, ” All the cricketers performed almost same in the ‘Yo-Yo test’. Some cricketers, who were out of Bangladesh Cricket teams and some cricketers, who were in injury, they got less score in the ‘Yo-Yo test’. But most of the cricketers performed almost same. Almost all cricketers were in a same bracket.”
