BCB announces 32-member preliminary cricket squad of BD

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Monday the 32-member preliminary cricket squad of Bangladesh for the upcoming Asia Cup and ICC World Cup. Experienced Mahmudullah Riyad has been included in the squad. Promising Soumya Sarkar has been called by the Team Management of Bangladesh Cricket Board. The coaching camp for the preliminary cricket squad of Bangladesh has started, according to a local website revealed on Monday. Anamul Haque Bijoy, the highest scorer of Dhaka Premier League was not called by the Team Management of BCB. All-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin, leg-spinner Aminul Islam and pacer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury were not included in the squad. Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, batter Towhid Hridoy, pacer Shoriful Islam are now playing in the Lankan Premier League (LPL). So, they could not participate in the coaching camp. Experienced batter Mushfiqur Rahim and pacer Taskin Ahmed will join the camp later as they took part in the Zim-Afro T-Ten League in Zimbabwe recently.
The cricketers, who have been included in the squad, are: Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Nasum Ahmed, Afif Hossain, Litton Das, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Rishad Hossain, Khaled Ahmed, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Shamim Hossain, Rajaur Rahman Raja, Rony Talukdar, Tanzim Shakib, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shoriful Islam, Mahedi Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Taijul Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Yasir Ali, Zakir Hasan, Ebadot Hossain, Saif Hasan, Naim Sheikh, Towhid Hridoy, Mosaddek Hossain and Tanzid Tamim.
