President of Bangladesh Football Federation Kazi Salahuddin gave bonus to Bangladesh Football team, which reached the semi-finals of the SAFF Championship, which concluded recently at Bengaluru in India.
Bangladesh were billed in the Group-B. After conceding a 0-2 goals defeat to Labanon, Bangladesh defeated Maldives by 3-1 goals and thrashed Bhutan by also same margin. Bangladesh reached the semi-finals of the SAFF Championship after 14 years.
BFF boss Salahuuddin gave Taka 51 lakh among the 34-member Bangladesh Football contingent at the Bangladesh Football Federation House on Sunday. The number of footballers are 23, while the coaches and officials are 11 persons. Most of the members were given Taka 1.5 lakh each. Midfielder Morsalin got Taka 2.5 lakh and goalkeeper Anisur Rahman Zico was given Taka 2.5 lakh.
Defender Bishwanath Ghosh was rewarded Taka five lakh for his special contribution. The rewards were given through cheques.
After giving their cheques, Kazi Slahuddin and the members of Bangladesh Football contingent took part in a lunch at the BFF House.
Bangladesh fought against Kuwait in the semifinal for 120-minute. Then ill-fated Bangladesh team lost to Kuwait by a solitary goal. Thus, Bangladesh bade good-by to SAFF Championship holding their heads high. Though Bangladesh could not reach the final, they won the mind of 16-crore football lovers of the country.
