Chief Justice of Bangladesh Hasan Foez Siddique has said a State could not become powerful if its judiciary remains weak and urged the judges to complete the trial process with in a short time.
The Chief Justice made the commentwhile laying the foundation stone of rest room ‘Nay Kunja’ (Justice Shelter) for justice seekers at Pabna Courts of District and Sessions Judges on Sunday as the chief guest.
He said, “we are trying to ensure that people get justice easily with less time and cost. That is why the judges are being urged to speed up the judiciary and complete the trial process as soon as possible. The Judiciary is working on a plan to bring the backlog to tolerable levels within the next five years.”
Later, the Chief Justice visited the museum next to the court premises. He then held a meeting with local court judges.
Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddiqui attended the discussion meeting of the District Bar Association in the afternoon.
Pabna Senior District and Sessions Judge Begum Shamim Ahmed, Supreme Court Bar Association Finance Committee Chairman Advocate Rabiul Alam Budu, Pabna Bar Senior Advocate Abdur Rahim and others spoke at the exchange meeting chaired by District Bar Association President Advocate Aktaruzzaman Mukta and moderated by secretary Advocate Abdul Ahad Babu.
