Wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim played his 250th ODI matches at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, the port city of the country on Saturday.
The right-hand ace batter is now the highest cricketer of Bangladesh who played 250 ODI matches.
Left-hand dashing opener Tamim Iqbal took part in 241 ODI matches, while ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan played 234 ODI game, veteran Mahmudullah Riyad played 218 ODI matches and Mashrafe Bin Mortaza also compete in 218 ODI game.
Mushfiqur Rahim made his debut on August 6 in the year of 2006 at Harare in Zimbabwe. Bangladesh played against Zimbabwe in that ODI match. Khaled Mashud Pilot was the wicketkeeper-batter of Bangladesh team and Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe by eight wickets. Thus, Mushfiqur Rahim could not bat in that match.
Mr. Dependable played his 50th ODI match on August 9 in 2009 at Bulawayo in Zimbabwe against Zimbabwe. Mushfiqur Rahim acted as the wicketkeeper of Bangladesh but he could not bat as he was fourth-down batter of the red-and-green outfit.
The right-hand batter played his 100th ODI matches at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in October of 2011 against West Indies. Mushfiqur Rahim played as the second-down batter of that match. He scored 69 runs using 109 deliveries. He played a slow innings but that innings he played due to the way of the match. West Indies won the match by eight wickets.
Mushfiqur Rahim played his 150th ODI match in Bangladesh. Mushfiq played against India under captaincy of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. Mushfiq scored 14 runs playing 19 balls. Bangladesh won the match by 79 runs.
The right-hand prolific batter played his 200th ODI match in 2019 at Christchurch in New Zealand. The Tigers played against the Kiwis. Mushfiqur scored 24 runs playing 36 balls. Bangladesh recorded eight-wicket win in that match.
