Cattle carrying trawler capsizes in Padma

A trawler carrying at least 48 sacrificial animals capsized in the Padma River in Harirampur area of Munshiganj around 12.30pm on Saturday .
Being informed, fire service men rushed to the spot and rescued 19 cows.
Soon after the sinking of the trawler, Harirampur Upazila Executive Officer Shahriar Rahman and Harirampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Suman Kumar Aditya, along with the fire service personnel visited the spot.
Officer-in-Charge of Horirampur Thana Sumon Kumar Additto confirmed the matter to the media and said that the trawler was going to Mograpara market in Narayanganj with the sacrificial cows from Chauhli in Sirajganj.
On the way, the accident happened in the Padma in Shutrakandi area of Kanchanpur Union in Harirampur.
