Palestinian Ambassador in Dhaka Yusuf SW Ramadan has claimed that Nurul Haque Nur, a prominent leader of the Gono Adhikar Parishad, held secret meetings with Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, in Qatar, Dubai, and India.
The allegations were made during a press conference at the Palestinian Embassy in Dhaka on Thursday.
Ambassador Ramadan stated that three meetings between Nurul Haque Nur and Mossad had taken place, with the issue coming to their attention during the Qatar World Cup preparations.
“Three meetings were held between Nurul Haque and Mossad in Qatar, Dubai and India. We have received photos
of the meetings from our intelligence. The issue came to our attention during Qatar World Cup,” he said.
While emphasising the significance of the claims, the diplomat said if Nurul Haque Nur denies these meetings, it would be favorable for Palestine, but if proven true, it could pose a threat to Bangladesh’s security.
“Anyone who receives money from Israel cannot be a leader. Such leader cannot bring welfare for the country,” he said.
Recent allegations and debates centering the meetings between Nurul Haque Nur and Mossad agents, as well as questions surrounding Nurul Haque Nur’s financial transactions raised by Reza Kibria and other leaders, have added further intensity to the situation.
Extensive controversy arises after information about a meeting between Nurul Haque Nur and Mendy N. Safadi, a member of Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad, in Dubai surfaces through social media.
