Bangladesh in final of ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup

Bangladesh A Women’s Cricket team reached the final of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup defeating Pakistan A Women’s Cricket team by six runs (according to Duckworth-Lewis-Stern Method) in the semi-final at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok of Hong Kong on Tuesday.
Electing to bat first, Bangladesh A Women’s Cricket team scored 59 for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated nine overs (11 overs were curtailed due to heavy rain) and then restricted Pakistan A Women’s Cricket team to 53 for the loss of four wickets in nine overs.
Bangladesh lost their early six wickets for 16 runs.

Then Rabeya Khan and Nahida Akter rescued their team from debacle contributing together 37 runs in the seventh wicket stand before Nahida Akter was stumped out by wicketkeeper Najia Alvi off Tuba Hassan when Bangladesh’s score was 53 for the loss of seven wickets.
Nahida Akter notched up a fine 21. Her 16-ball innings was studded with three fours and a sixer. Nahida Akter was adjudged the Player of the Match for her all-round performance.
Rabeya Khan remained unbeaten with 10 runs using 20 deliveries. Besides, Sultana Khatun remained unbeaten with six runs.
Fatima Sana of Pakistan captured three wickets at the cost of 10 runs, while Anoosha Nasir bagged a pair of wickets instead of six runs and Tuba Hassan got one wicket conceding 22 runs.
Bangladesh bowlers dominated Pakistan batters and earned a narrow win by their controlled, tight and superb bowling attack.

Rabeya Khan claimed two wickets in the space of 13 runs, while Nahida Akter and Mrufa Akter took one wicket each for eight and nine runs respectively.
Pakistan had a good start as their two openers Shawaal Zulfiqar and Eyman Fatima put on together 26 runs before Eyman Fatima was dismissed by Rabeya Khan.
Eyman Fatima notched up a notable 18 using 15 deliveries with two fours and a sixer.
Then, Nahida Akter struck as Shawaal Zulfiqar (11) was dismissed by Nahida when Pakistan’s total was 33 for the loss of two wickets.
One-down Sadaf Shamans (8) was dismissed by Rabeya Khan when Pakistan’s score was 39 for the loss of three wickets.
Second-down Natalia Pervaiz (2) was bowled out by Marufa Akter when Pakistan’s total was 47 for the loss of four wickets.
Fatima Sana remained unbeaten with 10 runs.
Bangladesh A Women’s Cricket team will face India A Women’s Cricket team in the final today.
