BD face Lebanon in first Group-B match of SAFF Championship tomorrow

Bangladesh Football team will face Lebanon Football team in their first Group-B match of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship at Bengaluru in India tomorrow. The match will kick-off at 4.00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live.
A total of eight teams splitting into two groups are taking part in the SAFF Championship, the most prestigious football meet of South Asian Region. Bangladesh, Lebanon, Maldives, Bhutan are in Group-B, while hosts India, Kuwait, Nepal and Pakistan are in Group-A. As the eight teams are competing in the forthcoming gala football meet, thus, the press conferences are held on group basis. Head Coach of Bangladesh Football team Javier Cabrera and the Head Coaches of Lebanon, Maldives, Bhutan were present at the press conference altogether.
Javier Cabrera said, ” Lebanon have played more matches than us and they are stronger than us.”

Cabrera said, ” We have come here to play and also expect a positive result. My boys took part in the coaching camp in Dhaka for some time. Then they played a warm-up match against Tiffy Army Club and a FIFA friendly match against Cambodia in Cambodia. After that, we have come Bengaluru to take part in the SAFF Championship. I hope my boys will show positive approach and consistent performance.”
It may be mentioned that, Lebanon played in a Tri-Nation Football Tournament in India recently. Lebanon became runners-up in that competition. Head Coach of Lebanon Alexander said, ” This tournament is a different competition for us. We shall face many teams. We played many matches recently.”
Head Coach of Maldives Francisco said, ” My team are prepared. We took part in a ten-day long coaching camp in Japan.”
Bhutan are underdog team in this group. Head Coach of Bhutan Pemar said, ” We participated in the one-month training camp in Bhutan. After that, we took part in the six-day long coaching camp in Kolkata and played two matches against the local sides of Kolkata.”
