Pistol Looted in July Uprising Recovered in N’ganj

RAB-11 has recovered a pistol allegedly looted from a police station during the July uprising, along with other equipment, during a raid on an under-construction building in Fatullah, Narayanganj.

The other items recovered include a magazine, four CCTV cameras, two slingshots and a handheld microphone.

RAB-11 confirmed the recovery in a press release sent to the media on Sunday. The items were recovered around 12:30 a.m. from the rooftop of an under-construction building in the Kathalpul area under Fatullah Police Station.

RAB-11 Company Commander Lieutenant Commander Naim-ul-Haque said the recovered weapon and other evidence had been handed over to Fatullah Police Station for further legal action.

According to RAB, a special operational team conducted the raid based on a tip-off. The building was reportedly being used as a hideout by suspected criminals and as a venue for drug-related activities. Several people fled the scene after sensing the presence of law enforcement personnel.

A subsequent search of the building led to the recovery of a Type-54 (7.62mm) pistol, a magazine, four CCTV cameras, two slingshots and a handheld microphone. RAB said the recovered pistol had been looted from a police station during the July uprising.
