22 full-length movies receive government grants for 2022-23

The government has recently announced the recipients of its grants for the film production for the fiscal year 2022-2023. A total of 22 full-length feature films and
6 short films have been selected for these prestigious grants, as announced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on June 18, said a press release.
The full-length film category comprises 22 movies including one Liberation War-based genre, one in
the Liberation War-based children’s category,
and two in the children’s category. Additionally,
18 films in the general category promise a
delightful mix of narratives and genres.
On the other hand, the short film category encompasses 6 movies that have been awarded grants.
Among the talented individuals receiving
grants, Noor Imran Mithu and Nurul Alam Atique have taken the spotlight, securing the highest grant amount of Tk65 lakh each. Mithu’s movie ‘Circus’ will not only showcase his acting skills but also mark his directorial debut. Nurul Alam Atique, together with producer Matia Banu Shuku, will make ‘Lal Mia’.
In the genre of Liberation War-based movies, Badrun Nahar Roxy has been granted Tk60 lakh
for the powerful movie ‘Juddho Shishu’ directed by Mohammad Ullah. Meanwhile, Mahin Mahnuma’s film ‘Bhor’ in the children’s category received
a generous grant of Tk60 lakh, with Aminur
Rahman Khan leading as the director.
In the general category, several outstanding films have caught the attention. Sadiq Siddiqui’s ‘Dena Paona’ received Tk55 lakh, Rezwan Shahriar Sumit’s ‘Master’ gets Tk60lakh, Masud Pothik’s ‘The August’ gets Tk60 lakh, Rokeya Prachi’s ‘Renur Muktijuddho’ gets Tk60 lakh, Jyotika Pal Jyoti gets Tk60 lakh for ‘Lara’, Jhumur Asma Jui gets Tk58 lakh for ‘Dui
Poysar Manush’, Md Sajeeb Ahmed gets Tk55 lakh for ‘Sardarbarir Khela’, Anwar Hossain gets Tk55 lakh for ‘Thikana’, Enayet Karim Babul gets Tk55 lakh
for ‘Jibon Amar Bon’, Kaushik Shankar Das
received Tk55 lakh for ‘Surjo Sontan’.
SM Tariq Rahman’s movie ‘Shironam’ gets Tk55 lakh, while SD Rubel received Tk60 lakh for ‘Neel Pakhi Akashe Ure’, Fakhrul Arefin Khan gets Tk 60 lakh for ‘Neel Joshnar Jibon’, Mostafizur Rahman Manik gets Tk60 lakh for ‘Rukhsaar’, Rasheda Akhter Lajuk gets Tk55 lakh for ‘Shapla Shaluq’ and Yasir Arafat gets
Tk55 lakh for ‘Amar Mukti Aloy Aloy’. Each movie
will bring a unique vision and promises to
captivate audiences with its storytelling prowess.
The list of recipients for short films includes Sazzad Zahir, Shahidul Islam, Nur Jahan Alim, A A Md Mahmudul Hasan, Subarba Sejuti and Asma Akter.
