‘Govt to protect & develop 20,000 burial grounds of FF’

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq on Sunday said the government will protect and develop 20,000 burial grounds of the martyred freedom fighters and other freedom fighters.
The minister said this while responding to a query made by the treasury bench lawmaker Mohammad Habib Hasan of Dhaka-18 during a question-answer session which was tabled at the Jatiya Sangsad with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair, reports BSS.

In this regard, the government has been implementing a project titled “protection and development of the Burial grounds of martyred freedom fighters and other freedom fighters (first amended) under the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.

In addition to this, the front battle sites also have been protected under the “Protection of the historic places of the Liberation War and construction of memorial museum”.
A total of 13 memorial mausoleums of the front battle have already been constructed under “protection and development of front battle sites” project run by the Liberation War Affairs Ministry.
