No dialogue with BNP until it refrain ill-efforts: AL

Staff Reporter :
Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Sunday said there will be no question of dialogue with the BNP as long as they will not refrain from its ill-efforts to halt the democratic continuity.
“Mirza Fakhrul is making strange and fabricated statements over dialogue. As long as they (BNP leaders) will not refrain from its ill-efforts to halt the democratic continuity of this country and make elections and electoral system questionable, there will be no question of dialogue,” Quader said.

He said the BNP is trying to build unity with various so-called political parties. “We have seen the form of their unity in the past. The BNP participated in the 2008 national elections with a hotchpotch unity but people did not trust them,” he said.

“They (BNP leaders) are perplexed now in the maze of fraudulence after cheating the country’s people time and again,” the AL General Secretary said in a statement on Sunday. Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said the people have lost their faith in the BNP due to its hypocrisy and deceitful political tactics.
