Press meet on saplings distribution held

The Executive Director of Zahidul Karim Sikder ( RKS) Foundation Zahidul Karim Sikder Bappi said in a written speech at the press conference organized at the Chittagong Press Club recently that our activities was started from June 5.
It is mandatory to have 25 percent of the country’s total land area as forest. But in reality it is less than 15 percent. The six seasons of the country have undergone many changes due to lack of sufficient trees. “Rezaul Karim Sikdar Foundation” has undertaken a program of planting one crore trees. This is a constructive initiative, where we express our deep resolve for tree conservation and environmental protection.
Architect Ashiq Imran, city planner, said in the conference, if 10 lakh trees are planted in Chittagong city, Chittagong city will shine as an aesthetic city.River research journalist Aliur Rahman said that it is possible to prevent river erosion as a result of planting trees.
They are hopeful that this initiative will be very fruitful for the country.Columnist Dr. Masum Chowdhury said, tree plantation is a natural step which is a powerful way to preserve our natural environment.
Agriculturist Kazi Golam Mustafa said that their aim is that through the ceremonial opening of the institution, we are raising support for plantations and creating a change in the environment.” This organization’s efforts are not only limited to planting trees, but it will also create a dream in our real environment. We are trying to play a helpful role in the economic development of the country through plantation. Social activist Neshar Ahmed Khan, Lion Chowdhury Anwarul Azim, environmentalist Salim Javed, among others spoke on the occasion.
