AL wants discussion with BNP thru UN

Staff Reporter :
Amir Hossain Amu, a member of Awami League’s advisory council and spokesman and coordinator of the 14-party alliance, said that he would like to hold talks with BNP for the sake of elections and democracy.
He said, “We want to discuss with BNP face to face.” If necessary, the discussion can be done through the mediation of the UN delegation as in the past.

The AL senior leader said these things at a rally of 14 party alliance on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on June 6. The 14-party alliance held this programme with the aim of “creating awareness about the anti-national conspiracy of the

BNP-Jamaat evil forces and the socio-economic and political situation of the country”.
Amir Hossain Amu said, “Where is the obstacle to a fair election? How can it be resolved? It can only be resolved through discussion. Not the other way around. Those who try to create unconstitutional conditions by disrupting elections and bring unconstitutional things will be resisted.”
