Demand for allocation to save Teesta River

The Teesta Save River Save Sangram Parishad observed a five-minute silent programme on Thursday in Rangpur division including Lalmonirhat for implementation of the Teesta Master Plan with its own funding in the upcoming budget.
A discussion meeting was held in front of the stalled Rangpur Komsuchi in front of Teesta Toll Plaza of Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila.
Leaders of Teesta Bachao River Bachao Sangram Parishad under the chairmanship of Shafiqul Islam Kanu, vice president of the council Makhan Lal Das, heroic freedom fighter Mostafizur Rahman, Maidul Islam, journalist Abdur Rob Sujan spoke at the meeting. Later, a 5-minute silence was observed in front of the Teesta Road Bridge toll plaza.
Movement of all types of vehicles was stopped during this time. This programme is observed in Aditmari, Bhotmari and Hatibandha of the district.
