Humayun Faridi’s 71st birth anniversary observed

May 29 was the 71st birth anniversary of noted actor Humayun Faridi.
He was a television, movies
and stage artiste of the country.
Faridi started his acting career with the stage play titled ‘Shokuntola’ by Selim Al-Deen.
Faridi was also an acclaimed actor in the television drama.
He debuted in TV dramas through the play titled ‘Nil Nokshar Sondaney’ in 1982. He later, acted in numerous dramas. He earned huge popularity in the country with his riveting performance in the drama serial ‘Shongshoptok’. He played the role of ‘Kan Kata Ramjan’ in the popular drama series.
Faridi also acted in a number of popular movies including ‘Din-Mojur’, ‘Sontrash’, ‘Top Rongbaz’ ‘Bish Daat’, ‘Ekattorer Jishu’, ‘Padma Nodir Majhi’, ‘Anondo Ashru’, ‘Madam Fuli’, ‘Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishti’ , ‘Joyjatra’ and ‘Matritto’.
The actor won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his lead role in the movie ‘Matritto’ in 2004.
He was awarded Ekushey Padak posthumously in 2018.
Faridi was born on May 29 at Narinda in Dhaka in 1952. The legendary actor died in Dhaka on February 13 in 2012.
