JMB man held in Ashulia

Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of the police has arrested an active member of the banned militant outfit ‘Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh’ (JMB). His name is Md. Anarul Islam (30). He is the son of one Mofiz Uddin of Sutipara Phultala of Nilphamari Sadar.
On a tip-off, a team of ATU arrested him from Jirabo Magpie bus stand under Ashulia police station on Friday night.
Superintendent of Police (Media and Awareness Wing) of ATU Headquarters Mohammad Aslam Khan said that Anarul had been working as a welding clambers in various factories under Ashulia police station of Dhaka district for the last one and a half years, hiding his name and doing organizational work.
He had been carrying out organizational activities as a member of the banned militant organization JMB for about eight years since 2015.
During interrogation it is known that while working in Nilphamari EPZ area, he met JMB member Ohidul. Through Ohidul was recruited to the JMB. Arrested Anarul was an active member of the banned militant organization JMB and had been helping the organization in supporting, donating, planning and inciting.
