Sewing machines distributed among needy families

Mymensingh City Corporation (MCC) has distributed sewing machines to 90 poor and helpless family members. Mayor Md Ekramul Haque distributed sewing machines at Shaheed Shahabuddin Auditorium on Wednesday.
In the speech of the chief guest, the mayor said that great progress has been made in the development of women under the leadership of honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The Mayor also said that under the direction of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Mymensingh City Corporation has implemented various activities including allowances, training and financial support. Regarding the provision of sewing machines, the mayor said that self-employment and self-development should be done by using sewing machines. Only then Tuesday’s event will become worthwhile.
Chief Executive Officer of Mymensingh City Corporation Md. Yusuf Ali, Panel Mayor Samima Akhtar, Chairman of Standing Committee on Social Welfare Affairs Shital Sarkar, Secretary Md. Arifur Rahman, Acting Chief Social Welfare Officer and Executive Magistrate Md. Masud Rana, President of Mymensingh Divisional Press Club Md. Nazrul presided over the event. Islam and other journalists, leaders of various women’s organizations were present.
