Book unveiled ceremonially in Bagerhat

Under the auspices of Bagerhat Macpherson Public Library a colourful ceremony was held in (the local) A C Law Town Hall on Sunday afternoon on the occasion of the unveiling of a book styled as “Brihattar Khulnar Itihas (History of Greater Khulna)” written by Mohammad Rezwanul Haq, the first Deputy Commissioner (DC), Bagerhat and former Chairman, Mongla Port Authorities. Chottogram Port Authorities, former Divisional Commissioner of Rajshi and the writer of ‘Bibartita Bagerhat’ (history of Bagerhat district) with Mohammad Azizur Rahman, DC, Bagerhat in the chair.
The ceremony was started with the recitation from the holy Quran and the holy Geeta.
Then the author of the book and former DC, Bagerhat was accorded with a crest of Macpherson Public Library and flower sticks by the different literary, cultural and other organizations like Bagerhat Shitya Sangsad, Bagerhat Sahitya Parishad, Bagerhat Foundation etc. Then the book was ceremonially unveiled by the writer Mohammad Rezwanul Haq in presence of a large number of elites.
While the address of welcome was given by Al-haj Adv. Mir Shawkat Ali Badsha, former MP of Bagerhat Constituency-2 and a reputed social worker of the district he explained the history behind the writing of the book on the history of greater Khulna. On the other hand while Principal Mazharul Hannan, an educationist was addressing the function as the main speaker he thanked the writer of the book and highly praised the book.
