Pubali Bank celebrates 64th anniv

Pubali Bank Limited crossed 64 years of success and entered 65 years. On the occasion of the anniversary, a casual ceremony was organized at the head office of the bank. Mohammad Ali, Managing Director and CEO of Pubali Bank Limited, celebrated the anniversary by cutting a cake as the chief guest while Mohammad Esha, Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, Ahmed Enayet Manzur, Md. Shahnewaz Khan, Mohammad Anisuzzaman, Deputy Managing Directors and senior executives were also present.
The present position of this bank through the passage of time bears witness to a golden past of long 64 years. The history of this bank has a close relationship with the country’s history-tradition, socio-economic development, freedom and sovereignty spirit, said a press release. The official journey of ‘The Eastern Mercantile Bank Limited’ started on May 19, 1959 in Terribazar, Chittagong. After the Great War of Liberation, in 1972 Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman nationalized ‘The Eastern Mercantile Bank Limited’ and named it ‘Pubali Bank’ through an order issued by the President.
