Woman’s throat-slit body found in Tejgaon

The throat-slit body of a housemaid has found inside the room of a security guard in the Tejgaon area of the capital on Sunday morning.

The victim has been identified as Julekha, 37, from Mymensingh who used to work as housemaid in different houses in the city.

Apurbo Hasan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tejgaon police station, confirmed the matter to The New Nation and said that victim Julekha came to the security guard of ‘Zaman Tower’ in Tejkunipara some days back in search of a job.

Two security guard namely Jalil and Siraj live in that room of Zaman Tower. Jalil was previously known to the victim Julekha.
Jalil mainly invite the victim woman to come their house alluring the job opportunities. Sunday morning, being informed by locals, police recovered the body from their’s room.

Police have already detained security guard Siraj in this connection. Another accused Jalil in absconding after the incident, OC said.

The body was sent to the Surawardhy Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal action will be taken after getting the autopsy report, OC added.
