Successful summer watermelon cultivator Sabita in Kulaura

Sabita Rani Malakar has succeeded in growing summer black baby watermelons in Baidyasasan village of Kulaura Upazila under the Integrated Agriculture Unit (Krisikhat) implemented by Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and under the Integrated Agriculture Unit (Agriculture) implemented by HEID Bangladesh.
She is a poor member of Chalanta Mahila Samiti of Vaidyashasan village of Kulaura branch of HEED Bangladesh Microfinance Programme. Farming him for summer watermelon cultivation
A financial grant of Tk 15,000 was given for materials. She has started activities with 25 percent land at the field level on the advice of Md. Sohail Sikder, Agriculture Officer of Integrated Agriculture Unit of Heed Bangladesh.
Sabita Rani Malakar said that she spent about Tk 25, 000 to cultivate summer black baby watermelon on 25 percent of the land. She also said that 700 pitches of Black Baby variety are on 25 percent of the land
She sold watermelons. In just 70-80 days from 25 percent of the land, he sold 700 pieces of watermelon and earned about 1 lakh Taka. She also said that the use of mulching paper for summer watermelon cultivation has increased the profit due to less water irrigation and labor cost.
She also said that people from the neighborhood came to her house to see the success of summer watermelon cultivation and she encouraged everyone to cultivate black baby watermelon in the future.
do Sabita Rani Malakar said that she will cultivate summer black baby melons on a larger scale in the future. She urged all members of Heed Bangladesh Association to cultivate summer black baby watermelons.
