More than two hundred members of Kuki Chin are hiding in Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT). Apart from committing various crimes, they are also carrying out attacks on opponents. Khandaker Al Moin, director of RAB’s law and media wing, gave this information at the capital’s Kurmitola headquarters on Thursday noon.
Khandaker Al Moin said that Kuki Chin members attack to the members of forces or law enforcement whenever they go on patrol or raids in remote areas of the mountains.
An army patrol was also attacked on Wednesday. Two soldiers died and two injured in that attack.
He also said that after the incident, the army and RAB have started a joint operation in Bandarban.
Two soldiers of the Bangladesh Army were killed and its two officers injured in an attack carried out by terrorist group Kuki-Chin National Army (KNA) at Ruma upazila in Bandarban.
The incident occurred in Ruma upazila on Tuesday when the KNA rebels detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) and opened fire on the military personnel who were patrolling the area following an intelligence report about potential separatist hideouts.
