A few months after its release on the OTT platform, drama ‘Nilanjona Express’ has come into the spotlight. Actress Parsa Evana has expressed her anger on social media, alleging that she was not paid in full.
However, director Farhad Ahmed Ishan denied the allegations and claimed that in addition to a misunderstanding about the remuneration, the actress has also threatened to stop her from working in the industry.
From the demand for remuneration to the counter-allegations, the showbiz arena is abuzz with new controversies surrounding the drama.
Parsa Evana wrote on Facebook yesterday, sharing several screenshots of her asking for payment from director Farhad Ishan via WhatsApp, “I have been waiting for my due payment for seven months.
Not only me, many other members of the team have not yet received their dues. The director gave me money, but he has not been able to pay some of it yet.
I have left that out. But none of my team has received any money, which (talking about) is also my responsibility as an artiste.”
Parsa also wrote, “I might accept it even if I don’t get my own money but what about the production boys who earn their living day by day?
Shouldn’t a boy who has just started working in the industry, working hard in the hope of a good opportunity, get his due?
We definitely want an industry where honesty, responsibility and professionalism are given utmost importance.
There should be no place for dishonesty and breach of promise.”
Regarding Parsa’s complaint, director Farhad Ahmed Ishan admitted his responsibility and told the media that he has not been able to pay Parsa’s full fee yet due to personal reasons.
He said, “Parsa will get another Tk10,000 from me. I am in regular contact with him.
I told her that I will pay her her dues soon. But she suddenly posted on Facebook and complained that many people from the production team receive money from me, which is not true. I have paid everyone except for one or two.”
Complaining against Parsa, the director said, “I have been running around the hospital with my mother for several months. I am unable to do any work, as a result I am in financial crisis.
Even after informing her about the matter, she threatened me. She said she will see how I work in the industry.
Apart from that, she shared my personal mobile number in the post. As a result, I am being harassed.”
Farhad also said, “The problem with the salary was mainly due to not being able to finish the shooting on time.
Parsa is also responsible for this. I went to shoot in a rural environment in Joydevpur.
She wasted a lot of time on the pretext of not having a good quality washroom there. So, we had to leave without shooting three scenes.
Later, I could not match the schedules of the artistes. She was also not giving the schedule. In the end, I was forced to release the drama without those three scenes.”
