Madrasah teachers need to develop teaching skill

Global Citizenship Education (GCED) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) both are important for modernization of Madrasah teaching in Bangladesh and it is also necessary for development of teaching skill among Madrasah teachers.

Speakers said this during a closing ceremony of a 3-day long workshop and seminar on “Global Citizenship Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for Madrasah Teachers” was organized by Islamic world educational, scientific and cultural organizations (ICESCO) in cooperation with Bangladesh National Commission for UNESCO at BNCU conference hall, BANBEIS Bhaban in the city on Thursday.

In the closing session Suleman Khan, Secretary, Secondary and Higher Education Division, Ministry of Education spoke as chief guest while Habibur Rahman, Director-General, Directorate of Madrasah Education, Ministry of Education attended as special guestMd. Shohel Imam Khan, Deputy Secretary-General, Bangladesh National Commission for UNESCO (BNCU) chaired the programme while Professor Dr Tariq Ahsan of IER, Dhaka University presented the keynote paper on GCED and ESD.
More than 100 teachers from the leading madrasas in the capital took part in the workshop.
