Van driver pleased to get house

Van driver Noor Ahmad is pleased to get the land and house given by expatriates in Osmaninagar upazila Sylhet District. Badrul Mottakin Chowdhury, son of deceased Abdul Hamid Chowdhury of native village Burunga of the upazila, and advocate Mahmudul Amin Chowdhury, a Canadian expatriate, built tin-shed house for a van driver named Noor Ahmed at a cost of 3 acres of land and 160,000 taka in cash. The main house of Noor Ahmed who got the land is in Kadamshree village of Madan upazila of Netrakona district. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. The elder son is studying in Hafiz section in Madrasa and the younger son is studying in Class V and the daughter in Class IV at Burunga Government Primary School. Noor Ahmed’s face was filled with joy and a gentle smile after getting the land and house. Now this time Noor Ahmad lives there with his family. Last week Sylhet Zilla Parishad Chairman and Sylhet District Awami League General Secretary Advocate Nasir Uddin Khan handed over house keys, land documents and nameplates to American expatriate Badrul Mottakin Chowdhury and Canada expatriate advocate Mahmudul Amin Chowdhury in Sylhet Zilla Parishad auditorium. Sylhet City Awami League Organizational Secretary Dr. Arman Ahmad Shiplu, Professor of Business Administration Department of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. Fazle Elahi Mohammad Faisal, Sylhet City Corporation Ward Councilor IliaSur Rahman and writer Master Emdadul Amin Chowdhury and other eminent persons were present here. Noor Ahmed told that I am eternally grateful to Canadian expatriate advocate Mahmudul Amin Chowdhury and American expatriate Badrul Mottakin Chowdhury of the Sylhet district bar. Raising both hands, I pray to God and wish them health and long life.
