3 killed in gunfight in Bandarban

The police recovered the bullet-riddled bodies of three people from Bandarban’s Rowanchari hills.
The bodies were recovered from Paikxyong Para area of the upazila on Monday (May 08) afternoon.

Tariqul Islam, Superintendent of Police (SP) confirmed the matter to the media saying that there was an incident of gunfire between two rival armed groups in the hill area in Paikxyong Para area since morning. This is believed to be the cause of death.

Rawangchari Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Saiful Islam said that based on the information given by the locals, the bullet-riddled bodies of three unidentified people were recovered from Paikxyong Para area. Legal proceedings are pending in this regard. The bodies are being brought from the scene to
