RAB seizes largest shipment of crystal meth (ICE), 3 held

Largest shipment of illegal drug ice or crystal meth seized. On Saturday night, the elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has seized the consignment of drugs, amounting to 24 kg, from Palangkhali area of Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar.

The force says that such a large consignment of ice has not been seized before in the history of the country.

In this regard, RAB’s law and media wing director Commander Khandaker Al Moin told media that RAB has seized the largest shipment of illegal drug ice (crystal meth) in the country’s history from Palangkhali in Ukhia. This drug was entering the country through Nafnadi from neighbour country. Consignment of ice seized in joint operation of RAB-15. Four people have been arrested in this incident. The value of recovered drugs is about Tk 120 crore.

Among those arrested by RAB are Imran alias Iran Majhi (33), Rubel alias Dakat Rubel (26) who are brothers of each other. Alauddin (35) is a dismissed policeman.

Earlier, BGB arrested Ruzruch Mia, brother in law of accused Ala Uddin. Drug dealers are relatives and acquaintances of each other. They are known to be distributing drugs in collaboration with drug syndicates in the country and outside the country.

Earlier on April 25, Border Guard Bangladesh-BGB operation arrested three people along with a shipment of 21 kg of ice from Balukhali border in Cox’s Bazar, which was claimed to be the biggest drug shipment in the country’s history. BGB Battalion 34 seized the drugs at Cox’s Bazar.
