False allegaion against Global Islami Bank Chairman, PD of LGD

Sonagazi Upazila Chairman Zahir Uddin Mahmud Lipton has insulted Global Islami Bank Chairman Nizam Chowdhury and Engineer Aminur Rashid Chowdhury Masud, Project Director (PD) of Local Government Department with various allegations at the monthly coordination meeting.

Chairman Lipton said that at the upazila’s monthly coordination meeting at the Sonagazi Upazila Parishad Auditorium April 30. Chairman Zahir complained that Engineer Masood had been gaining money in the name of various development projects. He took MP’s DO letter and sold it taking huge amount of money. At one point Lipton addressed the elite as they are friends of Jamaat BNP. They are not members of Awami League. After Sheikh Hasina’s government came to power, the new Awami League changed its shell.

the chief guest of the coordination meeting was Feni-3 Constituency (Sonagazi-Dagonbhiyan) MP Lt. Gen. Masud Uddin Chowdhury repeatedly warned Lipton not to attack anyone personally.

UNO Kamrul Hasan and some local chairmen were present in the monthly coordination meeting.
Awami League leaders and workers have been angered by this incident of Lipton targeting senior and respected person. In their angry reaction, some senior people said that Nizam Chowdhury is a decent politician. He is leading the United States Awami League. Also, he has been making important contribution to the economic sector of the country by establishing a bank and creating employment for many people. They said; Engineer Aminur Rashid Chowdhury Masud is a senior government official. He is also working to implement various projects in rural infrastructure construction of Feni and greater.
