BCL attacks JCD leaders on DU campus

The Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) allegedly carried out an attack on the leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal on Dhaka University (DU) campus when they were leaving the campus after giving flowers and pens to the admission seekers.
The accident took place on Saturday near at the High Court intersection of the capital immediately after the examination test of Arts, Law and Social Science unit of DU.
At least five people including JCD Senior Joint Secretary Mominul Islam Jisan, Joint Secretary Raju Ahmed, Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall unit JCD Joint Secretary Abdullah Talukder Sabbir were injured at this attack. They were taken to the hospital after the attack, source and JCD leaders said.
The JCD leaders also claimed that Shahbug Police seized two JCD members. But we can not conformed about the matters after trying several times.
Moreover, the BCL denied the allegation saying it fractional clashes of two groups of JCD.
Khorshed Alam Sohel, President of DU unit JCD said, “We went to the campus as per the pre-announced program. After finishing the promgramme, when we were leaving the campus, a group of BCL activists attacked us with sticks.”
When contact with DU unit BCL President Tanvir Hasan Saikat said, “Our Chhatra League workers were busy greeting the students. We were not involved in this incident.”
“I heard that this incident was happened between two groups of JCD. We will call upon them not to engage any fractional clashes during admission test,” he added.
Akhter Hossain, Former Convener of DU unit of JCD, said, “When we were leaving the campus, BCL attack us which led at least seven people injured including three were injured critically. We urged to the DU authority to keep a learning environment on the campus.”
DU Proctor Professor Maksudur Rahman said, “I have come to know that an unexpected incident has happened outside the campus. We are looking into the matter.”
