Uncle killed by nephew in Bagerhat

Paternal uncle Eunus Ali (41) was killed by his nephew Hossain Shaikh (25) in the village Aruaborni Charpara under Chitalmari Upazila in Bagerhat district in Friday evening (at about 7 pm) over the cutting of a small branch of a hog-palm tree belonging to the nephew, according to a report received here. In this connection nephew Hossain Shaikh and his mother Baby Begum were arrested by the police of Chitalmari PS.

It is learnt from the police and the locals that in Friday morning (at abbot 11 am) whie uncle Eunus Ali was returning home carrying a bundle of harvested Boro paddy on his head from the paddy field and when he was crossing the tree (Amra Gas) the bundle of paddy was collided with a small branch of the tree. Then the uncle cut down the branch. As a result, an altercation was taken place between deceased Eunus Ali and Baby Begum, mother of Hossain Shaik. Following this in the evening (at about 7 pm) on the same day while the uncle was entering in his cow-shed along with a number of cattle heads the nephew all on a sudden struck on the uncle’s head with a heavy lethal weapon from his (uncle).
