Indo-Bangla border haat in Bholaganj opens today

The buying and selling activities of Bangladesh-India joint border haat located in Bholaganj start from 10 am today (Saturday). Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Minister Mr. Imran Ahmad MP inaugurates the buying and selling activities of this haat, which was inaugurated earlier by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Deputy Commissioner Sylhet Md. Mojibor Rahman and members of India-Bangladesh Border Haat Management Committee also present there.
Located in East Khali Hills of Meghalaya, India, and Bholaganj of Companyganj, Bangladesh. This border haat will be open every week on Saturday and Wednesday from 10 am to 4 pm. There will be 26 stalls in India and 24 stalls in Bangladesh. Locally produced products will be sold in the haat and the residents of the 5 km area of the haat will have the opportunity to buy and sell the products.
Meanwhile, 24 vendors are selected through lottery from among the vendors who applied. Later, other applicant vendors will be given opportunities through lottery. Cards are being distributed to the buyers who have applied under the signature of Border Haat Management Committee Chairman and Additional District Magistrate, Sylhet. Visitor cards will be provided to brave freedom fighters and journalists.
It should be noted that a buyer can purchase products for a maximum of 200 US dollars equivalent in Bangla Taka in one day. A card holder has to pay Tk 30 per day for entry fee and Tk 70 per day for seller. The money will be spent on the renovation and development of this haat with the approval of the Border Haat Management Committee.
