Most of the members of Bangladesh Cricket squad reached United Kingdom to play three One Day International (ODI) matches against Ireland. The three-match ODI series is part of ICC ODI Super League. If Bangladesh can whitewash Ireland in the ODI series, Bangladesh will take the second spot in the ICC ODI Super League.

Bangladesh have already qualified for the ICC World Cup 2023. On the other hand, if Ireland can whitewash Bangladesh in the three-match ODI series, Ireland will directly take part in the ICC World Cup 2023. Otherwise, Ireland have to participate in the Qualifying round to play in the World Cup.

It may be mentioned that Bangladesh beat Ireland by 2-1 in the recently concluded three-match ODI series at home.

Wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das was scheduled to leave the city for London tonight.

On the other hand, left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman is now staying in India to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He will return soon in Dhaka and then, he will join the Bangladesh squad. Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who is now staying his family with United States of America, will join Bangladesh squad before the practice match against Ireland.

Before the Ireland tour, Bangladesh Cricket squad took part in a three-day conditioning camp in Sylhet from April 27 to April 29.
Bangladesh will take on Ireland in the first ODI at Chelmsford in United Kingdom on May 9, the Tigers will face Ireland in the second ODI at the same venue on May 12, The tourists will meet the hosts in the third ODI at the same venue on May 14.

Before taking part in the three-match ODI series against Ireland, Bangladesh will play a one-day warm-up match against Ireland in UK on May 5.

Tamim Iqbal (Captain), Litton Das, Rony Talukdar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Yasir Ali, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Ebadot Hossain, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud and Mrittunjoy Chowdhury.

Meanwhile, Cricket Ireland announced a 14-member Ireland ODI squad for upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh.

Andrew Balbirnie (Captain), Mark Adair, Curtis Campher, Gareth Delany, George Dockrell, Stephen Doheny, Fionn Hand, Graham Hume, Josh Little, Andy McBrine, Paul Stirling, Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker and Craig Young.
