SSC examinee found dead in Rajarbagh

The police recovered the hanging body of a student named Urmi Akhter (17) from a house in Rajarbagh area of Sabujbagh in the capital. She was an SSC candidate for this year.
On Saturday noon, the body was recovered from the house in Bagpara, Rajarbagh. Later, police sent the body to Dhaka Medical College & Hospital (DMCH) morgue for post-mortem.
Sabujbagh police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Abir Debnath confirmed the matter to the media saying that the student’s body was recovered from the house of Rajarbagh after getting information at noon. The dead body was hanging with the fan around the neck.
The SI also said that the student was scheduled to take the SSC exam from today (Sunday). The family claimed that she was very stressed.
She didn’t eat food since Friday night. Urmi’s mother asked to eat rice around 10 on Saturday.
But she shut the door saying she will not eat rice.
After a while, after not getting any response, her mother broke the door and saw that she was hanging with the fan around her neck. The actual cause of suicide is not yet known. The body has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Mortuary for autopsy.
Sohel Jamadar, uncle of deceased Urmi, said that Urmi was an SSC candidate from the local Abhay Binodini High School. Urmi was the eldest among the three sisters in her family. Uncle also said that through one of Urmi’s girlfriends, I came to know that she was having an affair with a boy. Urmi had a quarrel with the boy on Friday (April 27) night. she had not eaten since then.
