No one allowed with bags in Ramna: DMP

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Khandaker Golam Faruq said no one will be allowed to enter Ramna with bags marking the occasion of Bengali New Year-1430.
In addition, after finishing all the events, people must vacate the place by 4 pm, he said.
DMP Commissioner said this in response to a question from reporters after inspecting the security arrangements at Ramna on Thursday (April 13) afternoon.
DMP Commissioner said, every year the Dhaka Metropolitan Police provides security at Ramna Botmul.
He said Dhaka Metropolitan Police has taken all kinds of security measures so that Bengalis can celebrate this year’s
Pahela Boishakh in a festive manner.
Around 2,700 police are working in Ramna, Dhaka University, TSC, Rabindra Sarobar, Jagannath University as well as others surrounds Khandaker Faruq said.
Roads where traffic will be closed:
1. Banglamotor-Hotel Intercontinental-Shahbagh-TSC-Doyal Chatwar 2. Hotel Intercontinental-Kakrail-Matsya Bhavan-Kadam Foara 3. Matsya Bhavan-Shahbagh-Kataban 4. Shaheed Minar-TSC 5. Neelkhet-TSC.
There will be diversions and road blocks at the points around Ramna Park and Suhrawardy Udyan, DMP officials added.
