Cashless LD Tax system to be introduced from Pahela Baishakh

The cashless land development tax (LD Tax) system will be introduced from Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bengali month on April 14 across the country.
“In order to make the land development tax collection system more people-friendly, it has been decided to collect the taxes online, that is, through mobile payments, debit or credit card payments, or banks starting from Pahela Baishakh, 1430 BS. All landowners (both individuals and organisations) are requested to pay their land development taxes on time and regularly in order to implement the land development tax collection service as a cashless fully digitalised service,” According to a notice issued by the Ministry of Land on Wednesday.
Earlier on March 29, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced the introduction of the cashless land development tax system during the inauguration ceremony of the National Land Conference held in Dhaka to be effective from 1st Baishakh 1430 BS.
According to the notice, after completing the citizen registration process at the land.gov.bd web portal, landowners can pay land development taxes and collect the receipt online. For more information, the people could call 16122 (+880 96123 16122 from abroad) or send a direct message on the Facebook page www.facebook.com/land.gov.bd. It is to be noted that the Ministry of Land has already implemented the cashless e-Mutation system from October 1, 2022.
The introduction of the cashless land development tax system on April 14 will be a significant step for the Ministry of Land towards establishing a people-friendly smart land management system.
