Threat on Mangal Shovajatra: GD filed at Shahbagh police station

An anonymous body threatened to attack on the upcoming Mangal Shova Jatra by a letter which was found at the fine arts faculty of Dhaka University (DU) where the largest Mangal Shovajatra’s preparation is going on.
Abtahi Rahman, member of preparatory committee of Mangal Shovajatran, found the letter on Tuesday night at the fine arts faculty.
Later, he filed a GD with Shahbag Police station asking to ensure security in the area.
“We were supervising our works following the upcoming Bangla New year celebration programme and I found a paper containing threats which syas “Mangal Shovajatra is a Shirk, do not endanger yourselves
by coming in this area. Attack could be launched anytime of that day” and a note of 50 taka,” the GD filed by Abtahi Says.
“When I informed it to the higher authority, they told me to file a GD with Shahbag Police Station,” it furthermore says. But he refused to make any comment over this and said that he do not know anything about this.
SI Al Amin of Shahbag Police Station got the responsibility for the investigation of this case. He told to the media, “A member of the Mangal Shovajatra organising committee received a letter and applied for GD. We have received the application and the matter is being investigated”.
