Role journos in women empowerment

A view exchange meeting was organized with Aparajitas in Rangpur on media involvement in women’s political empowerment. Rangpur Press Club President Mahbub Rahman Habu presided over the meeting at Rangpur Police Community Center on Tuesday afternoon.
Aparajita project coordinator Feroze Md Nurun-Nabi duo spoke in it, HELTUS Bangladesh official Fatema Mahmud, Rangpur Press Club vice-president Abdur Rahman Mintu, acting general secretary Sajjad Hossain Bappi, journalist Marina Lovely, SM Piyal, Zakir Hossain, Pradeep Kumar, Aparajita spoke. The members of the organization are Runa Laila, Gangachra Upazila Vice Chairman Rabia Begum, Rikta Begum, Anjuman Ara Mini etc.
In the exchange meeting, the work and success stories of Aparajitas were informed to the media and journalists. Apart from building good relations with them, each other’s learning and experience were discussed.
It was informed in the meeting that with the cooperation of Switzerland, Democracy Watch is implementing Aparajita project in Rangpur Sadar, Mithapukur and Gangachara upazilas. Through this project, Trinamool women are ensuring women’s participation in all fields, including joining political parties, establishing women’s rights by participating and winning local government elections, preventing violence against women and children.
