Preparation going on in full swing to observe Pahela Baishakh

Like every year, the preparation for organizing the 32nd Mangal Sobhayatra (the welcoming procession of Bangla new year with the desire for peace to get rid of the worries), the main attraction of Bangla New Year observance festival by Charukala Barishal, the fine art teaching organization of the divisional city, has going on in full swing.
After long years this time by initiative of Barishal City Corporation Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah, on the first day of Baishakh, April 14, at eight o’clock in the morning, will inaugurate in the the Mangal Sobhayatra of Charukala Barishal from Brojo Mohun Institution(BM School) ground.
Barishal Sangskritik Sangothan Samonya Parishad and Udichi Barishal unit will coordinate the implementation of Mangal Sobhayatra programme with the participation of citizens from all walks of life.
Before starting the Mangal Sobhayatra, a programme of giving honours to heroic freedom fighters and Gunijan Sanmanona with binding Rakhi (friendship band) , will be auspiciously started .
Like other years, the participants of Mangal Sobhayatra will carry various portraits, symbols and models of traditional motifs of rural and eternal life style of Bangali people including peace doves, terracotta, palki, huts, horses, peafowls.
Apart from this, adorned crowns, fans, and mass people of all ages wearing various masks will be participated in the Mangal Sobhayatra to reflect the traditional rural culture of Bangli people.
After moving on city roads, It will end at Ashwini Kumar Hall premises at 11:00 AM. Apart from this, at Ashwini Kumar Hall, painting and folk culture exhibition will also be organized by Charkala Barishal from 9 am to 5 pm.
Khulna Correspoindent adds: A preparatory meeting for the elebration of the Pahela Baisakh, the first day of Bangla New Year was held in the conference room of Khulna Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) Office recently
With DC Khondokar Yasir Arefin in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Deputy Director of Local Government Department of Khulna Deputy Commissioner Office Md Yusup Ali, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Mukul Kumar Maitra, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Pulak Kumar Mandal, and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police Sheikh Imran.
Officials of Public and Private Departments and Representatives of socio-cultural organizations were present at the meeting.
The meeting has taken different programmes to celebrate the Pahela Baishakh. The programme includes a colourful procession and Mangal Shovajatra, which will start from Khulna Railway Station premises and will end at Khulna District Shilpakala Academy in the morning.
Afterward, a discussion about the heritage and history of Bengali New Year will be held at Shilpakala Academy Auditorium at 9:30am followed by a cultural programme and prize distribution ceremony.
Khulna district office of Bangladesh Shishu Academy will organize a drawing and writing competition for children on the occasion. Khulna Divisional Museum will be kept open for all on that day.
Khulna district Jail and ‘Shishu Paribar’ (Orphanage) will organise a cultural programme on their own premises while various handicraft items made by prisoners will be exhibited on jail premises.
Improved diets will be served at local hospitals, jail and orphanages on the occasion.
