DiCaprio’s big initiative to save endangered species

Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio has been working to conserve the environment and biodiversity for nearly three decades.

He started this work in 1998 through the ‘Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation’.

Later, in 2021, he expanded the foundation by adding environmental scientists and researchers and gave it a new name, ‘Re:Wild’.

The organisation’s activities are ongoing in more than 80 countries with the aim of restoring nature to its original form and strength.

DiCaprio has announced the creation of a $200 million grant fund to protect critically endangered animal and plant species around the world that are facing extinction due to climate change and various human interventions.

This is the largest financial commitment as a single initiative to protect endangered species.
