Aruna Biswas complaints of eve teasing in Film Artistes’ Association

A few days ago, there was a meeting between the Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association in which noted actress Aruna Biswas was present. In that meeting, the Office Secretary of the Film Artistes’ Association Armaan allegedly made inappropriate comments on the body of Aruna Biswas.
While talking in this regard, Aruna Biswas told this correspondent, “Armaan made comments on my body, which are totally inappropriate. He has no right to do that. I have sent a complaint letter to the Association.”
The complaint was written addressing the President of the Film Artistes’ Association, Ilias Kanchan. It was received by the Association on Saturday, which was confirmed by the Joint General Secretary of the Association, Symon Sadik.
Actor Symon Sadik also hinted that the matter is almost resolved internally. Yet, he refused to make any comments to the media, since his name is also included in the list of the accused.
In the complaint letter, Aruna Biswas also accused Symon Sadik for making derogatory remarks against her. She also added that, if necessary actions were not taken by the committee, she will ask for legal support.
Meanwhile, Symon Sadik assured to the media that he and Armaan have apologised to Aruna Biswas, and stated the situation as a ‘misunderstanding’. They are hoping that the matter will be resolved mutually.
It is noted that Aruna Biswas debuted in the country’s film industry in 1986. She serves as the Chairman of the production house Jatravision and acted in over 100 movies.
