Shinepukur Cricket Club recorded a massive eight-wicket victory over Agrani Bank Cricket Club in their match of the Dhaka Premier League Cricket at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Sunday.
Chasing Agrani Bank’s paltry total of 161 off 45.4 overs, Shinepukur sailed home making 162 for the loss of two wickets when they had 103 balls to spare.
Shinepukur made a good start as openers Mahfidul Islam and Jishan Alam put on together 38 runs before Jishan (20) was run out by Nuruzzaman.
Opener Mahfidul Islam and one-down Amite Hasan built a valuable partnership contributing together 69 runs in the second wicket stand before Amite Hasan was bowled out by Jahid Javed when Shinepukur’s total was 107 for the loss of two wickets.
Then, Mahfidul Islam and Priyank Panchal guided their team to reach the winning spot adding together 55 runs for the unbroken third wicket partnership.
Mahfidul Islam remained unbeaten with 69 runs. His 87-ball innings was laced with six fours and two sixes.
Amite Hasan made 36 from 58 balls featuring two fours and a sixer.
Priyank remained unbeaten with 26 runs. He hit two sixes in his 31-ball knock.
Jahid Javed took one wicket conceding 23 runs.
Earlier, Sharifullah and Nuruzzaman of Agrani Bank fought back against the superb bowling attack of Shinepukur. They scored together 60 runs for the seventh wicket partnership before Sharifullah was bowled out by Hasan Murad when Agrani Bank’s total was 144 for the loss of seven wickets.
After Sharifullah’s departure, Nuruzzaman was trapped leg before wicket by Farhad Reza when Agrani Bank’s score was 154 for the loss of eight wickets.
Hasan Murad and Farhad Reza captured four wickets each instead of 27 and 31 runs respectively. Hasan Murad was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Nabil Samad took one wicket for 19 runs.
Nuruzzaman hit a polished 38. His 70-ball innings was decorated with two fours and a sixer.
Sharifullah notched up a fine 31. His 33-ball innings was studded with three fours.
Opener Azmir Ahmed and fourth-down Marshall Ayub added 27 and 25 runs respectively to the Agrani Bank total.
