One alleged thief lynched in Pirojpur

One named Kabir Mridha (39) suspected as thief lynched in Pirojpur district.
The incident took place in Badura village of Shankarpasha Union of Sadar Upazila of the district in the early hours of Friday (March 31).
Kabir Mridha is the son of Karim Mridha of that village.
Locals said that the deceased Kabir Mridha entered the house at around 3 o’clock early Friday while trying to steal Panir Mridha’s house in Baduragram of Shankarpasha Union of Sadar Upazila of the district.
At that time the people of the house becoming alert caught him. During the scuffle, the thief beat and injured them.
At this time local people gathering there seriously injured Kabir by beating.
Local dafadar and UP member rescuing Kabir brought to village doctor at Mallikbari bus stand. At that time the doctor declared him as dead.
Then dead body sent to morgue for autopsy.
Meanwhile, the injured house owner Panir and his wife are undergoing treatment at Pirojpur Sadar Hospital.
In this regard, Pirojpur district superintendent of police Mohammad Saidur Rahman said that Kabir is a professional thief. The police recovered several instruments including knives used in the theft from the scene.
There are several cases of theft against him in Pirojpur, Indurkani and Bagerhat police stations.
