Disabled man gets house as a gift from PM

Mizan, a disabled beggar of Khanmarich Union in Bhangura Upazila of Pabna, is finally getting a house as a gift from the Prime Minister. Mizan is a resident of Motherbaria village of that union. As a child, he was fond of kite flying. One day his kite got stuck on an electric wire. While taking down the kite from there, he got himself electrocuted. That day, the sick Mizan was rescued with the help of local people. Later, doctors amputated one of his hands and one of his legs to save his life. This is how Mizan became disabled. The destitute Mizan began begging on a horse from then on. This is how Mizan’s family began. Mizan is currently 53 years old. He has four sons, three daughters and wife Fatema (49).
The Bhangura upazila executive officer recently rushed to the village of the beggar Mizan. As the incident was found to be true, it was decided to give him a house as a gift from the Prime Minister. On the occasion of the 103rd birth anniversary of the father of the nation. UNO Mohammad Nahid Hasan Khan,AC Land Bipasha Hossain and UP Chairman Manwar Hossain Khan Mithu met along with Mizan’s family on Wednesday. They also extended floral wishes to Mizan’s family. His family members are gifted with new clothes. They were informed to provide a house gift of the Prime Minister constructed in Chandipur shelter Project of Khanmarich Union. On Friday, they were taken to the house of the shelter project where the executive officer and his accompanying staff planted a tree.
Mizan said, “We are very happy to get the house as a gift from the Prime Minister. Now I don’t have to live in the shelter of others, he said happily, now I will live independently in my own house.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Nahid Hasan Khan said, with the inauguration of the 4th phase housing program among the landless by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on March 22, disabled Mizan is getting a new house. After that, he hopes that the beggar Mizan will be truly freed from his decrepit life.
