Zakir out of ODIs against Ireland, Tamim suffers fever

Zakir Hasan of Bangladesh Cricket team got injury in his finger of left hand while he took part in the practice session at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday. Zakir Hasan has been included in the Bangladesh One Day International (ODI) squad for the first time. Zakir will take rest at least three weeks to become fully fit. So, Zakir Hasan could not play in upcoming three-match ODI series against Ireland.
On the other hand, Captain of Bangladesh ODI Cricket team Tamim Iqbal has been suffering from fever for some days. Tamim Iqbal went to Sylhet with his teammates to take part in the first three-match ODI series against Ireland.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on March 12 the Bangladesh ODI squad for upcoming two ODIs against Ireland. Zakir will be totally okay in the first week of the next month. So, Zakir Hasan could not participate in the ODI series. He will undergo in an X-ray examination.
Earlier, Zakir Hasan could not take part in the third round match and final game of National Cricket League as he got hamstring injury.
A BCB source said, ” Tamim will take part in the first ODI against Ireland scheduled to be held tomorrow at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.”
The three-match ODI series between Bangladesh and Ireland will be held on March 18,20 and 23 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series will take place at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on March 27, 29 and 31.
The lone Test match will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur from April 4 to April 8. Before the only Test match, Zakir Hasan will recover from injury.
