Case filed against 12 pro-BNP lawyers

A case has been filed with Shahbagh Police Station in the capital on Wednesday evening over the election-related violence of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).
Pro- Awami League (AL) lawyer Advocate Md Moniruzzaman, Convener of the election conducting committee, filed the case accusing 12 pro-BNP lawyers, of thwarting the elections and snatching ballot boxes.  
Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon and Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal were among the accused.  
Pro-BNP lawyers boycotted the election.
The two-day annual election to the 14-member executive committee, including president and secretary posts, of SCBA was scheduled to be held
A total of 8,589 lawyers were set to cast their votes in the election.
Bangabandhu Awami Ainjibi Parishad has nominated incumbent SCBA President Md Momtazuddin Fakir and incumbent Secretary Md Abdun Nur Dulal as candidates for the posts of president and secretary respectively.
On the other hand, Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Oikya Panel has chosen former SCBA secretary and Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon and former secretary Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal for the posts of president and secretary respectively.
