Dr. Halida visits Fatema Trust in Rangpur

Distinguished physician and Public Health legend Dr. Halida Hanum Akhter visited institutions of Fatema Trust in Rangpur on Thursaday. Fatema Trust with the slogan “Golden Gate for Education and Sight”, is operating Siddique Memorial School and College (SMSC), Community Eye Care and Research Center (CECRC), Community Eye Hospital (CEH) and Rangpur Begum Rokeya Memorial Foundation (RBRMF). Dr. Halida, while visiting CECRC and CEH, expressed her satisfaction on the available facilities and ongoing activities those are aimed to serve the humanity through helping poor by reducing avoidable blindness. Dr. Halida was highly pleased finding the aim and objectives of RBRMF those are aimed to empower the poor with focus to destitute women while promoting the philosophies of Mohiyoshi Begum Rokeya. She addressed an audience and expressed her passion to work for the humanity and shared her philosophies and thoughts. This session was attended by the Chairman Md Ferdous Alam Mukul, Executive Director Lt Col (retd) Md Farid Alam, staffs and dignitaries from different strata of the society.
She also visited Siddique Memorial School and College, a well reputed educational institute of the area and attended a motivational session for the students as Chief Guest. The session was titled as ‘Dreams and Realities’, as a part of the regular program of the institution named ‘Let’s Dream’. With the examples of her life, Dr. Halida emphasized the need for having dream, need for consistency in pursuing the dream and shared different realities from the experience of her life.
