DU observes Flag hoisting day

Dhaka University (DU) observed Flag Hoisting Day on Thursday to commemorate the first hoisting of the country’s national flag on the DU campus on March 2, 1971.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman, inaugurated the programme as a chief guest.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed the significant role of the university in the every movement of the country and the history of the 2nd march.
He called upon to the students to learn nation’s history and the contribution of the university in achieving freedom of the country.
DU Pro-vice-chancellor (administration) Professor Muhammad Samad discussed as a chair about the historical background of the Flag Hoisting Day.
Pro-vice-chancellor (academic) Professor ASM Maksud Kamal expressed the significance of the day.
